InfoLetter #6 - Good Health is Real Wealth
Overcoming Subconscious Resistance to Change Using EFT
By Annabel Fisher, EFT-Advanced.
Sometimes it's easier to give attention to what we don't want in our lives, rather than what we do want. We focus on our lack of money, our poor health, or chronic pain, or how unhealthy we feel after eating a "comfort" food.
When we make a definitive decision to focus on what we do want, powerful fears can arise about making the necessary changes. For example, "If I have money, I'll have to be responsible", or "If I am healthy and vibrant again, I’ll be expected to return to work and/or look after the family", or " If I stop eating these cookies every evening, I'll have to face what's missing in my life"…

Gluten-Free, Naturally
By Debbie Sarfati, HHC
About two and a half years ago, I learned that I was highly intolerant to gluten, which was actually something that I had suspected for years. At first, I was happy to have discovered this; it seemed to be an opportunity to further improve my health and possibly prevent future related illness. I was feeling very positive about making this dietary change — that is, until my mind shifted to thinking about the list of my favorite foods that I would never taste again: NY pizza, Challah bread, and Black & White cookies. Suddenly the list of the foods I would NEVER eat again was all I could think about. So, in an effort to ease my mind and learn what my new options would be, I went out to the store on my first gluten-free shopping pursuit. As I looked down at my own shopping cart, I suddenly became aware of how different the contents were…
The Role Of 'Letting Go' In Healing
By Jini Patel Thompson
And this phenomena is simply the balance between doing everything you can to effect healing, and then also forgetting about the Healing Journey altogether and dwelling in joy, positivity and peace – for as much of the day as you can. Many of you have heard the aphorism: What you resist persists. Or, whatever you focus on, you will call to yourself. Or, whatever you focus on, grows. When applied to the Healing Journey, these concepts dictate that you focus on the positive outcomes you want to achieve. That you look for and celebrate each step forward – no matter how small.

It's an important distinction to keep in mind that being aware of your reality and framing that reality in a negative way, are two different actions, energetically. Let's use the example of malnutrition and look at the two different ways that issue can be managed – one of them positive and the other negative…
Paying For Natural Healing
By Nicole Paull
I think everyone knows that if he or she is dealing with a serious illness, dealing with it holistically is going to involve some out-of-pocket expenses. The question is how much and for how long? This article isn't going to question the ideals expressed in Listen to Your Gut. I believe in them. If you can comfortably stretch to follow them to a tee, I'm all for that and I hope to join your ranks someday! For awhile I did, but when the balance sheet showed that we were spending more than we were making in order to do so, some changes were in order for me.

This article is probably not going to be of much interest to people who have an abundance of disposable income. It's probably not going to be much use to someone who's abjectly poor. It's written for people like me, who weigh and balance expenses by dint of necessity, but not by dire necessity. I'm going to share my experience dealing with out-of-pocket expenses - what I did that I'm glad I did and what I wish I'd tweaked a little sooner to reflect my own circumstances. The intent is to pick out some underlying principles that can be put to good use. I'll also share some resources that I've found particularly helpful…

Dealing With Others When You Have a Chronic Illness
By Tom Robinson, M.A.
The first thing I’ve learned is that, more than anything else, there is one thing those of us with chronic illnesses are not getting from other people that we really want: Understanding. We want others to know how hard it is for us, both physically and emotionally, to live with a chronic illness. It’s not surprising that not getting the understanding we want is such a common problem. The reason it’s not surprising (at least not to me) is because I don’t think it is possible for a person who has never had a chronic illness to truly know what living with one is like.

That said, it is almost always possible to get more understanding from others than we currently do. The best way to do that, in my experience, is to avoid complaining about not being understood and to not criticize the other person for not giving us the understanding we want. Instead, what works best is…
Natural Treatment for Ear Infection
By Jini Patel Thompson
Young children are often prone to ear infections (even if they do not eat pasteurized dairy products) - due to the straightened angle of their Eustachian tubes and sometimes very narrow ear canals, which further prevent proper drainage of mucus. Without going into the entire history, and ALL the things I have tried - both drug (out of desperation and worry that I might 'harm them for life') and natural treatments – to heal my children's ear infections, here is just what works.

I've actually worked out two protocols - one for older children, who can take wild oregano oil orally, and one for younger children/babies who cannot take wild oregano orally. Remember that wild oregano is anti-fungal, anti-yeast, anti-viral and anti-bacterial - so you're covered no matter what's causing the infection. These protocols can also be applied to adults with ear infection and I will give the adult dosage equivalents as we go along.
Zucchini Bounty
By Lisa Marie Battacharya
Zucchini Season is upon us! I’ve just eaten up my first 2 big ones and what a delight! Freshly picked zucchini is a wonderfully vital whole food that provides many vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and much more. Farmer’s markets are the freshest source, after your own garden of course. Here are 2 great recipes to celebrate zucchini with: Sauteed Zucchini With Feta and Zucchini Chocolate Chip Loaf (made with spelt flour).
